This wibbly wobbly pattern is not really wobbling at all. It is only moving downwards the rest is caused by your eyes. If you just lock your eyes on to one green ball and follow it down the page you will see there is no sideways movement.

Look at this beautiful lake. You might be surprised to find out that there is no water in this picture at all. What looks like a lake is in fact a white garden wall. Image source unknown
Hello Spy Fans. Today I have designed an optical for you showing the Queen of the United Kingdom hiding in the islands. Can you spot her? Of course you can, It is a bit obvious I know, still it was fun making it. - Spyman
This is quite a famous picture of a bus we found on the internet where the advertizer has painted a shark on the side of a bus and used the sliding doors to make a great illusion. We loved it so much that we thought animating it might look good. Original image source unknown
If you are an optical spy regular you’ll be aware of our love of illusions. We have produced quite a few of our own over the years and thought you might like to see the one voted as 'the greatest optical illusion in the world', ‘The Steelwork Illusion’. As ever our inspiration comes from M.C. Escher‘s work around the ‘Penrose Triangle’. If you can't see what's going on take a closer look at the girders the third worker from the left is laying on, then follow around the joints of the metalwork or check out the detail below. Today's optical illusion is of the famous Rubics Cube. Can you spot the illusion? Well it is difficult to notice, but the center squares on each side are actually all the same color. Wow! If you dont beleive it, click on the optical and you will see.
A great painting by Chris Buzelli of twin boys all mixed up.
If you look at these two round patterns one looks like it is popping in and the other is popping out. If you follow one of them around it will change from an innie to an outie, but this is done solely by your brain, the shapes do not change. Crazy isn't it?
We found these great, well timed photos, on the internet giving the illusion of the sun going through a hoop. We loved it so much we decided to animate it. What do you think? Original image source unknown.
Firstly, the only thing changing in this animation is the dark bar moving across. So can you see the four different shades of blue? Now what happens when the bar covers two adjacent shades?
