Here are two faces an angry face on the left and calm face on the right. But if you move away from your computer screen you will see the two faces swap over! This hybrid image was created by Phillippe G. Schyns and Aude Oliva of the University of Glasgow.
Watch the large disc move and disappear (it doesn't actually disappear, it's always there you just can't see it). Now notice the little black dots in the disc, they disappear only when the disc is spinning.
Erik Soderberg is an artist specializing in creating and editing images for print and web. Erik explains his visual work like this:-
'Visual perception is my strongest sense. I've always been drawing and early started to take photographs. Before starting my freelance career I worked five years with commercial and editorial pictures as an employed retoucher. I've approached visual work as one field rather than narrowing it down to different disciplines, resulting in a broad knowledge spanning from illustration, photography and retouch — to graphic design, webdesign and 3D. However, my absolute specialty is picture editing and advanced retouch.' Click here to see more of Erik's stunning work.
![]() Franz Liszt was a 19th-century Hungarian composer, virtuoso pianist, conductor, teacher and Franciscan tertiary. Liszt gained renown in Europe during the early nineteenth century for his virtuosic skill as a pianist. He was said by his contemporaries to have been the most technically advanced pianist of his age, and in the 1840s he was considered to be the greatest pianist of all time. Liszt was also a well-known and influential composer, piano teacher and conductor. He was a benefactor to other composers, including Richard Wagner, Hector Berlioz, Camille Saint-Saëns, Edvard Grieg and Alexander Borodin. As a composer, Liszt was one of the most prominent representatives of the "Neudeutsche Schule" ("New German School"). He left behind an extensive and diverse body of work in which he influenced his forward-looking contemporaries and anticipated some 20th-century ideas and trends. Some of his most notable contributions were the invention of the symphonic poem, developing the concept of thematic transformation as part of his experiments in musical form and making radical departures in harmony. He also played an important role in popularizing a wide array of music by transcribing it for piano. When we change the background the fish stop wobbling.
